Mrs Dalloway symposium
We are delighted to share information on the following Symposium on Mrs Dalloway, which is being co-organised by Literature Cambridge Lecturer, Ellie Mitchell. Our Director, Trudi Tate, will be giving a paper on her new edition of Mrs Dalloway for Oxford World’s Classics. Do join us if you can!

‘Very Young; at the Same Time Unspeakably Aged’: 100 Years of Mrs Dalloway
On 31 October 2025, the School of English at the University of St Andrews is hosting a symposium to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Mrs Dalloway, and all are welcome to the party.
Registration is now open for this event at: https://mrs-dalloway-symposium.wp.st-andrews.ac.uk/registration/
Held in the beautiful venue of Lower College Hall at the heart of the historic university, the day will comprise a wonderfully rich and diverse programme of panels, with papers delivered by Woolf scholars, readers, and enthusiasts from around the world. A buffet lunch, tea and coffee, and celebratory sparkling wine will be provided.
The day will conclude with a keynote from the wonderful Professor Bryony Randall of the University of Glasgow. Professor Randall will speak on the experience of reading Mrs Dalloway through the years, a topic which we hope will bring us all - as Woolf hoped to do with her novel - ‘into full talk’ over a glass of prosecco.
We do hope you can join us! All are invited to the party, and we warmly encourage you to circulate this invite among the common readers in your life.
